Help · FAQ

Questions people ask us at 3am.

Orders, delivery, returns, safety and the rest, answered plainly. If yours isn’t here, email hello@calmobaby.com and a real person will reply within one working day.

Short answers first. Small print where it matters.

Orders

Can I change or cancel my order?

Yes, if you’re quick. We dispatch within one working day, so email hello@calmobaby.com with your order number as soon as you can. If it hasn’t left yet, we’ll change or cancel it.

If it has already gone, no harm done. You can still cancel within 14 days of delivery, or use the 60-night trial.

How can I pay?

Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay and Google Pay through Shopify Payments, or PayPal. Payment is taken when you place your order.

Payments are handled by Shopify Payments and PayPal. We never see or store your full card number.

Are prices in pounds, and do they include VAT?

Yes and yes. Every price on the site is in pounds sterling and includes any VAT. Delivery is shown before you pay, so nothing new appears on the last screen.

How does the Any 3 for £24.95 offer work?

Every £9.95 product is part of our Any 3 for £24.95 offer. Pick any three and you pay £24.95 for the lot. Mix and match as you like: the Tear-Free Rinse Cup, the Scoop Freezer Stick Tray and the High-Contrast Baby Cards, say.

Can I send an order straight to someone else?

Yes. Put their name and address in as the delivery address; anywhere we deliver in the UK is fine. Useful for grandparents, godparents and anyone who has heard “we’re fine, honestly” once too often.

Want to add a gift note? Write it in the order note at checkout and we’ll include it. And if you’d like the packing slip to show no prices, say so in the order note too.

My order confirmation hasn’t arrived.

Check your spam or promotions folder first; confirmation emails like to hide there. Still nothing? Email us with the name and email address you ordered with, and we’ll check your order went through.

Delivery

How much is delivery?

UK delivery is free on every order, with no minimum spend. Next working day delivery is £4.95. See the full table.

How long will it take?

We dispatch within one working day. Standard delivery then takes 2–4 working days. For next working day delivery, order by 1pm Monday to Thursday and it arrives the next working day.

Addresses in the Highlands, the islands and Northern Ireland can take 1–2 working days longer, and next working day delivery isn’t available there. Standard delivery is still free.

Do you deliver outside the UK?

Not yet. We deliver to UK addresses only, and for now that doesn’t include the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man or BFPO addresses. We’d rather do one country properly than twelve badly.

How do I track my parcel?

Every order goes by a tracked courier. When it leaves the warehouse, we email you a tracking link. No email by the end of the working day after you ordered? Check your spam folder, then email us and we’ll find out where it is.

My parcel is late, lost or damaged. What now?

Email us with your order number, plus a photo if it arrived damaged. Until a parcel reaches you, it’s our responsibility, not yours. We’ll chase the courier and, if it’s lost or broken, send a replacement or give you a full refund. More on late, lost and damaged parcels.

Where do you ship from?

From our warehouse, by a tracked courier. We dispatch within one working day and email you the tracking link.

The price at checkout already includes VAT and any delivery charge, so there’s nothing more to pay when it arrives.

The 60-night trial & returns

How does the 60-night trial work?

Try any product for 60 nights. If it doesn’t fix the problem it promised to fix, send it back for a full refund of what you paid for it. In the UK the returns label is free.

You decide whether it worked. We won’t argue with you about your own nights. The trial in full.

When do the 60 nights start?

On the day your order is delivered. Delivered on a Tuesday? Tuesday night is night one.

Is there anything I can’t return once it’s opened?

A few things, for hygiene reasons. Teethers, the Gentle Nasal Aspirator, the Postpartum Peri Bottle, the Hands-Free Pumping Bra, and cups, straws and anything that comes into contact with a bottle can only come back unopened.

If one of them is faulty, it can always come back, opened or not. See the full list.

How do I send something back?

Email hello@calmobaby.com with your order number and which product is coming back. We’ll reply within one working day with a free UK returns label. Post it within 14 days, and keep your proof of postage. Step by step.

When will I get my money back?

Within 14 days of your return arriving with us, back to the way you paid. Your bank may take a few more days to show it.

Returning one item from a bundle or an Any 3 for £24.95 multi-buy? You get back the price you actually paid for that item, with the discount shared across the items.

What if something’s faulty?

Stop using it and email us, with a photo if you can. A faulty product can always come back, including opened hygiene items, and we cover the postage. Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply, trial or no trial.

If you think the fault could hurt someone, email safety@calmobaby.com instead.

Does the trial replace my legal rights?

No. The 60-night trial is extra. Your 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations and your rights for faulty goods under the Consumer Rights Act are never affected. Your statutory rights.

Safety & standards

How do you decide what’s safe enough to sell?

Before a product goes on sale, we check that it actually fixes the problem and that it comes with the safety paperwork that applies to it. If either is missing, it doesn’t go on sale. Our Standards page sets out what we check.

What won’t you sell?

Some popular baby products carry risks we’re not willing to pass on. We don’t sell amber teething necklaces, plug socket covers, bottle props or self-feeding pillows, cot bumpers, sleep positioners or wedges, weighted sleep bags or blankets for babies, inclined sleepers, or covers and blankets to drape over prams.

The reason for each one is on our Standards page.

Can I see the safety information for a product?

Yes. Email safety@calmobaby.com with the name of the product and we’ll tell you which safety standards apply to it and what it has been tested against.

I’m worried about a product. Who do I tell?

Stop using it, put it out of reach, and email safety@calmobaby.com. Safety emails go to the front of the queue: we reply the same day on working days.

If a child is hurt or unwell, don’t wait for us. Call 999 in an emergency, or contact NHS 111 or your GP for advice.

What happens if a product is ever recalled?

We’d email everyone who bought it, put a notice on this site, and tell you exactly what to do and how to get your money back. You’d hear it from us, not from a forum thread.

Will your safety products make my home childproof?

No, and be wary of anyone who says theirs will. Our safety products make some common accidents less likely. They don’t replace an adult keeping an eye. RoSPA and the Child Accident Prevention Trust have excellent, free advice on keeping little ones safe at home.

Can you give me health or sleep advice?

We’re a shop, not health professionals, so we don’t give medical advice. For safe sleep, go to the Lullaby Trust. For anything about your child’s health, talk to your health visitor or GP, or visit the NHS website.

Using your product

I’ve lost the instructions.

It happens, usually to the recycling. Email us the name of the product and we’ll send you a copy.

Which product is right for my problem?

Start with The Worry Index, which lists every product by the problem it fixes, in plain words. Or take the quiz.

Still unsure? Tell us what’s going on and we’ll give you an honest answer, even if that answer is “nothing we sell”.

Is it right for my child’s age?

Check the age and stage on the product’s page and in its instructions, and stick to them. They’re there for safety reasons, not marketing ones. If your little one is somewhere in between, ask us before you buy.

How do I clean it?

Follow the care instructions that come with it, and for anything that goes near a mouth or touches milk, follow them to the letter. Give it a once-over each time too: if anything is cracked, loose or torn, stop using it and tell us.

Can I put a product in the cot?

Only if it’s made to be there, like the Stay-On Sleep Bag 2.5 Tog. The Lullaby Trust advise a clear, flat cot for babies, so anything else (night lights, white noise, monitors and their cables) belongs outside it and out of reach. Each product’s instructions say where it should go.

It’s not working the way I expected.

Email us before you give up on it. Often it’s a setting, a strap or a step the instructions could have explained better (if so, we’ll rewrite the instructions). If it still doesn’t fix the problem, that’s what the 60-night trial is for.

Reviews

Who can leave a review?

Only people who bought the product from us, and only from 14 nights after it was delivered. No anonymous drive-bys, no reviews copied from other websites. How we handle reviews.

Why wait 14 nights?

Because a first-night verdict isn’t a verdict. Small children are gloriously inconsistent, and two weeks is long enough to know whether something actually helps or whether Tuesday was just a good Tuesday.

Do you remove bad reviews?

No. We publish every review that follows our rules, from one star to five, and we never edit the words. We only remove reviews that contain personal data, abuse or something off-topic, and when we do, we tell the reviewer why.

Why does this product have no reviews?

Because we’re new, and we won’t fake it. Reviews only come from verified buyers after 14 nights, so they take a while to arrive. “No reviews yet” means exactly that.

What does the “Tester” label mean?

It marks a review from our Tester Panel: parents who got the product free to test for 60 nights in return for an honest review. They’re the only reviews linked to a free product, and they’re always labelled. Nobody is ever paid for a review.

How do I report a review?

Email hello@calmobaby.com with the name of the product, the date of the review and what you think is wrong with it. We’ll check it against our rules and tell you what we decided. More on reporting.

The Night Shift Club

What is The Night Shift Club?

Our loyalty club, and it’s free. You earn points on what you buy, get early access to new products, and your little one gets a small gift for their first birthday. Want more? Club+ adds parent circles and live Q&As. Join the club.

How do points work?

You get 1 point for every £1 you spend on products (delivery charges don’t earn points), and every 100 points is worth £5 off an order.

If you return an item, the points you earned on it are taken off again. Points expire if you go 12 months without placing an order. If we ever change the scheme, we’ll give you 30 days’ notice.

What’s the birthday gift?

A small gift from us for your little one’s first birthday. To get the timing right we need their birthday month, which you can add when you join or later. We only ask for the month, never the full date. Skip it and you simply won’t get the birthday gift; nothing else changes.

Do I have to tell you about my baby?

No. Your little one’s birthday month or age is optional. If you share it, we use it to send your birthday gift and, if you’ve said yes to emails, to keep them relevant to your child’s age. You can change or delete it any time. How we handle it.

What does early access mean?

Club members can buy new products before they go on general sale. If something new fixes a problem you’ve got, you won’t be the last to hear about it.

How do I leave?

Email us and we’ll close your membership. If you only want fewer emails, use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of them; you’ll stay in the club.

Tester Panel

What is the Tester Panel?

A panel of parents who test our products in real homes, on real nights. Testers get a product free, use it for 60 nights, and write an honest review that’s published with a “Tester” label. More about the Tester Panel.

How do I apply?

Fill in the application on the Tester Panel page. Tell us about your household and the problems you’re up against, and we’ll be in touch when there’s a product that fits.

Who can apply?

You need to be 18 or over, live in the UK, and be a parent, a carer or a parent-to-be.

How do you choose testers?

We match each product with parents who actually have the problem it fixes, and a child the right age for it. There’s no point testing a toddler clock on a newborn.

Do I have to write a good review?

No. You have to write an honest one. One star, five stars or anywhere in between, it gets published either way, labelled “Tester”.

Do I get to keep the product?

Yes. Testers keep the product, whatever their review says.

Still stuck?

Write to us at hello@calmobaby.com. Real people read every email, Monday to Friday 9am–5pm and Saturday 10am–2pm (UK time), and we reply within one working day.
