What it helps with

First tooth. When do you start brushing, and how do you even get in there?

A grown-up toothbrush, a clamped mouth and a lot of dribble.

Something soft on your finger now, and their own brush next.

How to use
  1. From the first tooth, slip a finger brush on and gently brush teeth and gums twice a day.
  2. Use a smear of fluoride toothpaste, as the NHS advises for under-3s.
  3. When they want to hold it, hand over the training brush, then finish off yourself.
Safety & honest notes
  • Stay with them while they use the training brush. The shield helps, but it's no substitute for watching.
  • Check the brushes for bite marks and wear, and replace them when they look tired.
